Liz Poole is the Career Development Coordinator at Mount Pleasant High School with Cabarrus County Schools. She holds licenses in business and marketing education, career development, and administration. Poole has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Master of Business Administration from Queens University in Charlotte.  She was a successful business owner prior to entering education. 

First elected to the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners in 2008, Poole is in her third term and has served terms as vice chair and chair. She previously served 10 years on the Board of Education, four of those as board chair.  She is board liaison to the City of Mount Pleasant and the Volunteer Fire Department Committee. She is also a member of the Cabarrus/Rowan Metropolitan Planning Organization, Centralina Workforce Development Board, Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County, and the newly formed Work Ready Community Committee. 

Poole values public education as an integral part of a sustainable community. Career development is her primary focus, especially connecting high school curriculum to employer needs. She is a lifelong resident of Cabarrus County.
